Ouzo “O Geros”

“Geros” (Old man) Georgios Hahalis, who lived in the village of Agios Georgios Sikousis on the island of Chios, was familiar with all the secrets of distillation. He was proud as he drank “his own” Ouzo, which was the “handiwork” of distilled mastic and other aromatic plants and seeds, with his friends while gazing over the endless blue of the Aegean Sea.

This traditional recipe has been religiously observed over all these years by his descendants to provide consumers with smooth and easy-to-drink Ouzo.

OUZO GEROS contains natural extracts and essential oils of Chios mastic and anise, which laboratory (in vitro) studies that were undertaken by the Democritus University of Thrace, in cooperation with our distillery, demonstrated antioxidant and anticancer activity, in the research Project entitled “Use of organic active essential oils in the production of alcoholic drinks and confectionery products with potential health benefits”.
